Here we have the Mech themselves from the "MetalFighter" project. They too were created in the summer of 98 for Banned From The Ranch. I created about 100 film res texture maps for the fighting mech. Working from screen captures of the parts sent to me from BFTR, I created color maps, bump maps, specularity maps, diffuse maps, reflection and reflectivity maps and decals. The idea was to create a well worn but not dilapidated mech that held up well with shots as close as a head or foot shot. All the application, modeling, lighting, compositing and animation was done by the talented staff at BFTR.

Below is an example of one of the surfaces I created. These are the maps for the side of the foot including the color map, bump map, specularity map, and reflectivity map. All the maps were created very large to hold up with the 2k film resolution renders. In the case of the color map, you also see here the screen capture of the foot model. This is used to properly align the areas of dirt and distress.

Here you can see a few test renders of the various parts including a back plate, the heel of the foot and the thigh. The process for this project included BFTR sending me test renders of the parts to confirm that we have achieved the correct results. With the heel shot you can see where the paint is scraped away from the surface raw metal is seen.
