In the summer of 1997 I was contacted by StrataUser magazine, an upstart company that was dedicated to producing a magazine with the Strata User in mind. They had heard of me through Strata Inc. and asked if I would be interested in contributing an article to the premier issue. I had the freedom to pick the subject and length of the article I submitted. Since texture mapping is one of my strong points I decided to write a tutorial on texture mapping. What I ended up with was a 10 page tutorial with 36 screen captures and renderings. I've often read tutorials that managed to leave some crucial step out, leaving me hanging or potentially down the wrong path, I didn't want that to happen here so I covered the procedure with what some might call excessive detail. I also did not want to loose readers with terms that they did not fully understand so I also included a list of 27 definitions of key terms. To visit the StrataUser web site follow this link. |
